Influencer TV Campaigns

Taking creator talent into broadcast and connected TV: licensing, performance agreements, production standards and the clearances broadcast requires.

Overview

Using a creator in broadcast is a different legal and production world from social. Broadcast clearance, music licensing, performer agreements and usage terms all apply, and a social contract covers none of them. Brands frequently discover this after the shoot.

Done properly it is a strong combination: a face an audience already trusts, in an environment that signals scale. The creator's own channels amplify it, and the audience that knows them from social recognises them on a larger screen, which is exactly the transfer of credibility you are paying for.

Who this is for

  • Brands moving a successful creator relationship into broadcast
  • Companies wanting recognisable talent without celebrity fees
  • Advertisers running connected TV who need a credible presenter
What's included

How we approach influencer tv campaigns

The specific pieces of work a typical engagement covers. Scope is agreed up front — nothing here is a surprise line item later.

  • Talent agreements for broadcast

Performer terms, usage windows, territories and renewal, which are substantially more involved than a social post agreement.

  • Clearance and compliance

Broadcast advertising clearance, claim substantiation and category rules, handled before production rather than discovered during it.

  • Music and third-party licensing

Broadcast-cleared music and any third-party material. Social licences do not transfer, and this is a frequent and expensive surprise.

  • Production to broadcast standard

Technical delivery specifications that broadcasters and connected TV platforms will accept without rejection.

  • Cross-channel planning

Coordinating the broadcast flight with the creator's own posting so the two support each other.

  • Combined measurement

Reading broadcast reach alongside the creator's engagement and any lift in branded search.

How it runs

From first call to measured result

The same sequence every time, so you always know what happens next.

  1. Clear the ground

Agree talent terms, check category rules and identify clearance requirements before committing to production.

  2. Develop

Build the creative around what the creator is credible doing, rather than casting them into a conventional script.

  3. Produce

Shoot to broadcast standard with all versions and cut-downs planned from the start.

  4. Run and measure

Coordinate the broadcast flight with creator posting, and report the combined effect.

Why it's worth doing

Outcomes, not deliverables

A pile of artefacts isn't progress. These are the changes the work is meant to produce — and what we report against.

  • Recognition at broadcast scale

A face the audience already trusts, in a medium that signals a serious brand.

  • Better value than celebrity casting

Established creators cost considerably less than traditional celebrity talent and often carry more credibility with a younger audience.

  • Amplification built in

The creator's own channels extend the flight at no additional media cost.

  • No clearance surprises

Handling rights and clearance before production avoids the rejections and reshoots that make this expensive.

Questions

Common questions about Influencer TV Campaigns

The things people ask before they get in touch. If yours is not here, ask us directly.

Do social influencer contracts cover broadcast use?

Almost never. Broadcast requires performer terms, defined usage windows and territories that a social agreement does not contemplate. Assuming otherwise is the most common and most expensive mistake in this area.

Can we use music from the creator's social posts?

No. Social platform music licences do not extend to broadcast or paid advertising. Broadcast-cleared music has to be licensed separately or commissioned, and it should be budgeted from the start.

How is this different from connected TV advertising?

Connected TV advertising is the media discipline: buying, targeting, frequency and measurement. This is the talent side, and the two work together. If you have the creative and need the buy, that is the other page.

Are creators comfortable in broadcast production?

Varies a great deal. Most are used to making content alone and find a full crew and a locked script unnatural. Formats that keep them closer to how they normally work produce noticeably better performances.
